On Saturday, 15 point to 34 million people in South Korea received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, representing 29 point nine percent of the population.

According to the national working group on immunization, nearly four thousand people received their first vaccine and 83 thousand 700 their second vaccine on Friday.

About five point two million people, or ten point three percent of the population, have been fully immunized so far.

South Korea administers the AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna and Janssen vaccines.

The country reported the highest number of infections in nearly six months at more than 800 on Thursday, stoking fears of a resurgence.
