Pune: Handwriting has been one of the biggest victims of online education reported in all classrooms by teachers prompting Pune zilla parishad to introduce a 40 minute session each week for students from Stds I to X on how to write.
Pune ZP will also implement a ten point program in all of its schools for the improvement of education. This includes improving general knowledge, speaking, and immediately solving student worksheets. Teachers will be trained to facilitate these online sessions.
Pune ZP General Manager Ayush Prasad said online education has ruined children’s writing practices and the handwriting of a majority of students has become very bad.
He said a meeting of all education officials in the bloc was held on July 3 and a 10 point quality development program was decided to be implemented in all schools. of the district of Pune.
“The report and results of this program should be submitted by teachers and principals regarding the progress of the implementation of this program from time to time,” he added.
Prasad said an inspection by education officials, center heads and also those responsible for block development should be conducted to ensure that schools are implementing this program. A mindfulness session for a few minutes before the start of school and after the end of the school term each day should be conducted to instill and practice better focus and concentration in the students.
The program will also include a basic assessment of students’ learning level and, based on the results, improvement activity sheets will be given.
A separate program of activities will be organized for students based on the shortcomings of each individual, added Prasad. The pedagogical office of the Pune ZP will prepare activity books for self-study which will be distributed in the form of booklets to the pupils.
The 10-point program includes preparing students for scholarship exams organized by the Department of Education for V and VIII standards.
A general culture quiz competition will be organized for students to improve their personality and awareness.
