Warzone will soon receive its next major content drop with reloaded Season 4, in which the developers at Raven Software will make some significant changes to the Call of Duty battle royale. Here’s everything we know about the next update.
Bugs and glitches aside, Warzone is having another successful season. Although the FARA 83 is by far the most popular choice, the weapon balance is excellent and the Red Doors have added another unique gameplay mechanic.
Warzone’s live-service model means another drop in free content is on the way, as players prepare for Season 4 Reloaded, which is just around the corner. It is confirmed that Warzone will be getting a new game mode in this update, and we also expect more significant weapon balance adjustments.
Here’s everything we know about Warzone Season 4 Reloaded, including its release date and what we expect to see.
Warzone Season 4 Reloaded Release Date
Warzone Season 4 Reloaded, commonly referred to as the Mid-Season Update, will arrive on July 14/15 at 9:00 p.m. PT / July 15 at 12:00 a.m.ET / 5:00 a.m. UK, so the community hasn’t Too much time before getting to find out what this update has to offer before Season 5 arrives.
Warzone Season 4 Reloaded Roadmap
On July 12, 2021, Activision officially revealed the Warzone Season 4 Reloaded Roadmap which details all of the exciting content coming to Call of Duty battle royale in the new update.
Season 4 reloaded weapon upgrades and nerfs
The Warzone Season 4 update made some significant changes to the meta, and we expect the Reloaded Season 4 to follow. The ever dominant CR-56 AMAX was eventually tamed and after a quick adjustment to the MG 82, the FARA 83 and XM4 became the dominant weapons.
The developers have already teased a nerf for the insanely powerful nail gun, so it’s very possible that they’ll deliver it in Reloaded. Also, according to WZRanked.com (as of June 29), the FARA 83 has a selection rate of almost 20%. This makes it perhaps the most popular weapon in Warzone history, so we expect the developers to make some changes to the FARA 83 in Season 4 Reloaded.
New Warzone Season 4 game mode: Payload
The Warzone Season 4 roadmap has announced an all-new upcoming “in-season” game mode: Payload.
Regardless of the Warzone game mode, your main goal is to eliminate other players. However, the developers are introducing Warzone’s very first objective-based game mode, Payload. Fans of Overwatch and other shooting games may recognize the name, and the gameplay is almost the same too.
In Payload, two teams of 40 will compete on two caravans of vehicles. One team must escort them through a series of checkpoints and the other must sabotage the mission. You can build and destroy barriers and buy buildings to help your team achieve victory.
Activision and Raven Software provided more details on the new Payload game mode on July 12 which you can find below:
“War zone has received several innovations since launch, from in-game events such as Haunting of Verdansk modes to Resurgence modes, and even a bit of a 50v50 rumble.
Now, as part of Reloaded season four, the massive free-to-play experience introduces its all-new objective-based mode: Payload.
Inspired by ancient traditions Call of Duty game modes like Call of Duty®: WWIIIn War Mode, Payload pits two teams of 20 players against each other in a race against time to gain crucial insights, as these vehicles carry satellite parts that could help shift the balance of war between Perseus and NATO.
If the attacking team escorts all vehicles through all checkpoints within the allotted time, they win the match. The defending team can not only remove attackers from payload vehicles to slow them down, but also buy and build obstacles to block those vehicles on the tracks.
All of this happens as operators constantly arrive with their own custom loadouts, searching for items across Verdansk like Cash and Killstreaks to help their team escort or stop payloads.
Look for Payload in the featured playlist rotation for Reloaded Season Four.
New weapons: OTs 9 & Mace
Two more weapons are yet to arrive in Warzone in Season 4, the occupational therapists 9 SMG and the mass Melee weapon. OTs 9 will be available for players to unlock at the launch of the Reloaded Season 4 Update, while Mace will be available for players to unlock later in the season.
The OTs 9 SMG has the potential to turn meta if the Nail Gun receives a nerf, because although it has “great stopping power and phenomenal rate of fire”, it is held back by a 20 round magazine. However, there is every chance that magazine props will increase the size of the magazine, making it an extremely powerful choice.
Unfortunately, Warzone’s massive map doesn’t allow melee weapons to be effective, so you’d better use mace in Black Ops Cold War multiplayer.
New Warzone Sentry Gun Killstreak
The Season 4 Reloaded update for Warzone will also see the addition of a new kill streak. This new killstreak will be the powerful Sentry Gun that allows players to take down their enemies.
You can find the official description of the new Sentry Gun killstreak below:
“Need an automated fifth squad member in the form of a rapid-fire turret?” Don’t trust a teammate to in fact look at your six? Then the Sentry Gun, the last Killstreak to be introduced in War zone, is ready for deployment.
Similar to the way it works in Black Ops Cold War and Modern ware®, the Sentry Gun scans nearly 180 degrees in front of it to seek out and destroy enemies. It performs this elimination scheme for at least a minute after deployment before collapsing with a harmless explosion.
Find the Sentry Gun as an extremely rare legendary item in a Supply Box in the Red Door.
Changes to the red doors in the war zone
The Call of Duty blog post for the Roadmap also contained a mysterious part stating that players can expect to see the red doors scattered around Verdansk ’84 to become more mysterious with the reloaded Season 4 update. .
“Courageous operators across Verdansk have passed through the red gates, entering unknown regions…
Additional information suggests that these red doors will appear [[REDACTED]]and takes you to [[REDACTED]].
As Perseus’ sleeper cells are still on the run in Verdansk, we are warning you to [[REDACTED]]. “
New Warzone Map Blitz Event
A new type of event will arrive in Warzone later in the season in the form of Blueprint Blitz which will allow players to obtain blueprints from previous seasons of battle royale. You can find the official description of the Warzone Blueprint Blitz event below:
“Ahead of season four of Reloaded, we’re here to warn you that the War zone can, and will, turn into a Blueprint Blitz.
Similar to Double XP Weekends, Raven Software plans to activate a new special world event where contraband contracts appear automatically after completing two regular contracts. Contraband Contracts grant you a permanent Weapon Blueprint reward if you are able to extract it from DZ, in addition to tons of cash in your current match.
Blueprint Blitz should give you the chance to earn many weapon blueprints from previous seasons. If you missed or didn’t play War zone During the time they were originally available, Contraband Contracts grant you previous seasonal rewards after you complete the contract.
Keep your eyes peeled in the game and on Raven’s official social media (@RavenSoftware) to see when the new Blueprint Blitz will take place.
Warzone Season 4 Reloaded Update Size
PlayStation 5: 8.9 GB
Playstation 4: 8.9 GB
Xbox Series X / Xbox Series S: 9.2 GB
Xbox One: 9.2 GB
computer: 9.2 GB (War zone Only) / 10.4 GB (War zone and Modern war)
“Note: PC users will also need an additional 12.4 to 12.9 GB of hard drive space for the patch copy process; this is only temporary space that is reclaimed at the end of the patch installation and is not an additional download.
Remember the War zone download is not necessary if you are playing only Black Ops Cold War, and vice versa.
Additionally, for a smaller overall file size, players can choose to uninstall / remove other data packs if they are no longer needed.
Call of Duty: Vanguard reveals
Call of Duty 2021, widely referred to as “Vanguard,” is expected to be revealed inside Warzone. There was a rumor that Vanguard would be revealed during a Season 4 live event, but that’s unlikely.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was revealed in Warzone in August, so we expect Vanguard to follow suit. We’re expecting a marketing campaign that will include teasers and Easter Eggs ahead of Vanguard’s reveal, so it’s highly unlikely that CoD 2021 will be revealed in Warzone Season 4.
That’s all we know about Warzone’s next major update! As more information is released, including the roadmap and update size, we’ll keep you posted.
