An archery-based legalized betting game, Shillong Teer, takes place in Meghalaya only on weekdays, Monday through Saturday. The state has successfully transformed the tribal sport of archery into a legalized lottery game. Held in the state capital, Shillong, the lottery game is hosted by the Khasi Hills Archery Sports Association at the polo field. Khanapara Teer and Juwai Teer are the famous teer games that are played every day except Sunday.

A group of 12 archery clubs participate in the game, which takes place in two rounds. The results of the match on June 19 will be made public via the official website:

As the Shillong Teer archery match is played in two rounds, its results are also announced at two different times. The first round of the archery match, which will start at 3:45 p.m., will be released to the public at 4:15 p.m. The second archery round will start at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, so the results will be available on the website at 5:15 p.m. In the first round, a team of 50 archers shoot 30 arrows while in the second round, the archers must shoot 20 arrows at the target.

People can buy tickets for Shillong Teer at ticket booking counters located in the eleven districts of Meghalaya. These counters remain open from Monday to Saturday and the hours are from – 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
