Premier Lacrosse League 25-man rosters were released ahead of Week 1 of the season.

It kicks off this weekend in Albany, where the teams held a training camp this week.

Of note in the release of the lists is Grant Ament’s move to the Physically Unable to Perform list. IL reported that he was kept out of the Archers scrum this weekend during training camp. The Archers have just 24 men on their roster, which could mean they’re anticipating his return soon.

As has been the case with the number of talented players in the pool, there are some big names that aren’t on the rosters. Pat Harbeson (formerly Redwoods), Mark Cockerton (Atlas), Randy Staats (Chrome), Reid Bowering (Waterdogs), Reece Eddy (Cannons) and Matt Abbott (Whipsnakes) are among the notables released into the Player Pool.

Sign of the difficulty of winning a national championship, Maryland drafted eight players. Five of them are on lists of 25 men; the other three are on the PUP roster after suffering injuries last week in Bubba Fairman (Cannons), Matt Rahill (Cannons) and Roman Puglise (Whipsnakes).

This season’s games will be broadcast on ESPN networks. This weekend’s program begins with a rematch of last year’s championship:
